Who is UNITED HUMATE?
Farming and agriculture have been around for as long as we can remember. There have been a multitude of advances for producing the best crops possible. Something that is a constant in crop production, large or small, is the importance of healthy soil. That’s where it all starts.
Providing a healthy root system is the key to healthy crops. In order to establish the healthiest root system is highly dependent upon having healthy soil. United Humate provides just that.
Using the right products will take the soil that you currently have and enrich it with nutrients necessary to provide abundant crops. The United Humate team wants to help you with all your soils needs.
What are Humates?
Without getting overly technical, humates are the pieces left behind in soil after organic materials decompose. They are remnants of previous life, and are essential for rich soil and healthy plants. They provide numerous benefits by:
- Improving soil’s ability to hold water
- Increasing soil-to-plant transmission of essential nutrients
- Maintaining optimal soil pH
- Encouraging beneficial microbial growth
- Reinforcing soil structure
Historically, humates have occurred naturally in soil. A constant cycle of growth, death, and decomposition continually replenishes soil with the elements necessary for a flourishing ecosystem. While nutrients are consumed by living plants or lost through erosion, they are replaced by decomposing plants and animals. This process has kept soils around the world healthy and productive for millions of years.
Unfortunately, recent agricultural advancements have thrown a wrench into this natural cycle. Many modern farming techniques lead to the depletion of soil’s naturally occurring humates. Annual ploughing, artificial irrigation, and over-reliance on inorganic fertilizers can speed the processes of erosion and inhibit humate formation. Years of these practices result in soil poor in humic content.
That’s where United Humate steps in. Our products replenish your soil’s depleted humates, leading to improved plant health and increased germination rates. We offer a granular soil conditioner and a liquid Humic Acid treatment. See our products page for more details.
